How do you balance training with all of life’s responsibilities?

I wake up around 4:30 a.m. most days to train before class or work, because I’ve learned that morning movement sets the tone for everything else.

What is your “why” - What keeps you showing up each day?

My “why” is rooted in showing other students that you can build a strong, healthy routine even when life is busy — it’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency.

What is one defining moment in your journey that has shaped who you are today?

One defining moment for me was signing up for my first race — I didn’t feel “ready,” but committing to it showed me how powerful it is to just start.

What role does mindset play in your training?

I’ve learned that mindset is everything: I don’t wait to feel motivated — I rely on discipline and routine, especially on hard days.

What part of your routine do you never skip, no matter what?

I never skip stretching or sleep, because recovery is just as important as the miles.

Is there a mantra or mindset phrase you live by?

When I feel stuck, I zoom out and remind myself that growth isn’t linear — it’s built in the quiet, consistent work.

What’s your favorite part of training?

My favorite part of training is the long runs; they’ve become a space to clear my head and reconnect with why I do this.

[For fun] If you could train with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?

If I could train with anyone, it would be Emma Coburn — she’s a fierce competitor but also so grounded, and I’d love to learn how she trains with both intensity and joy.
